She probably wouldn't like the coupe for herself (we have two kids). Although we do have a beat up minivan if we need to go anywhere with more people... If, and I have to say "if", she gets the coupe I bet she knows I'd be driving it more than her. LOL

This car has been out a few months here in the states, I'm suprised none of you have driven one. It really is all that. It is as nice as my bimmer inside & out, the top of the line stereo is off the chain, 6cyl acceleration is suprisingly crisp for a car that big (V/8 has not arrived yet), brakes are wonderful, the steering & feed back could be improved for my taste, although I want my sedan to perform like a sport coupe. The average person is not looking to drive their lux sedan in that manner. If you're contemplating buying the coupe, test drive the sedan so you will know where there heading. Sure the coupe will be more sport oriented, but they are both Genesis' and Hyundai therefore considers both lux & sport. Plus it will pass some time, although it may cause you to desire the coupe that much more.

I test drove one about a month ago, before I changed my mind about getting a new car. No V8 at that time, so I test drove a V6 with tech package. I was favorably impressed with the ride and power. Extremely competent but not quite the "sport" feel. But definitely luxury. No doubt about that. Maybe the V8 will feel more sport.

I didn't get a chance to hit any rough pavement, or a twisty one at that, but I get a feeling that most luxury car drivers don't hit one of those on a regular basis anyway. So I can neither confirm or deny magazines reviews on this car's behaviors on rough/twisty roads.

Interior feel is, like I said, straight lux. The leather accent on the dash looks and feels very nice. The i-Drive-like navigation knob feels weighty and big in your hand and I had no problem using it.

If I were still in the market, this car would've been one of top three candidates.

Thanks for posting your experience. I have been wanting to do a test drive myself as I drive by a Hyundai dealership everyday. They have a few out on the main street for everyone to see. From some of the reviews I've seen, the Sedan is not as sporty as say a BMW, but then again I do not think Hyundai is claiming this will out handle one in all aspects. This is a luxury car so I think they want this to feel more luxory than feel like a sport car. If you want that then get a BMW M5 and also pay about 2-3 times as much which in this economy I'm not prepared to do.

Well it turns out my wife wants to get an Acura MDX after all in about a year. This is after her even seeing a Genesis coupe and sedan in Korea. My only hope now is that some business ventures I'm working on pan out and pay off well enough for me to afford the coupe!!! :aargh: Sucks because I know someone who wants to buy my SRT-4 off me right now. Just bad timing. Argh!
