This happened in my town. I don't know if anything could have been done to prevent this other than the family not going to the event. Its just a freak accident. I'm guessing about 100 laywers have already contacted the family to begin suing everyone and anything related to this event.

Yeah one second you are enjoying yourself the next you are trying to save your child's life and then watch him die. It makes you realize you should spend as much time with the people you love that you can and not to take them for granted.

That little boy was probably so excited to attend and now this. I would have a VERY hard time dealing with that. All motorsports are dangerous. This is just a good reminder to stay on your toes at any motorsport event. Accidents can happen, and you need to live your life, but this to me is really a tragedy.

I read that it took a 3in by 3in chunk out of the kids skull and hit the other man in the throat. Its just a so sad for that family his siblings were there also so they will have that to live with for the rest of their lives. My 5 year old nephew and brother inlaw were going to go to it but didn't.
