Could you give more details about when it came? On 1st start up, after a while of driving, when braking, etc.

By the way, welcome to the site & take the time to introduce yourself in the new members section.

My wife's 06 Sonata does that periodically (once or twice a year) but has never been on for more than a second or two. Haven't seen it in my coupe yet though.

Speaking of ABS...
Does turning off the stability control system turn off ABS?
No, ABS stays on continuously. Unless the ABS lamp is on indicatiing a problem with the system, but then you still have normal braking capabilities.

This is exactly what I'm experiencing in my base model except its more than the ABS light that comes on. So far it has happened to me twice and the dealership has yet to even try to find anything on it.

A bad brake light switch can cause the ABS light to come on intermittently.

Remember, the Coupe uses the same part number brake light switch that's in the Sonatas, Accents, Elantras, Tucsons... I think every later model Hyundai except for the Entourage. It's the same part number that's involved in the Campaign Hyundai has going on right now to replace the switches in those vehicles. The brake light switch in my Coupe has already had to be replaced because it went out completely and wouldn't allow me to start the car.

^^^ Day Dreamer is correct, a faulty brake lamp switch can cause ABS or ESC lamps to come, brakes lights to stay on or not come on at all. If the GenCoupe has the same part #, then good chance this could be the culprit. For anyone wanting to know if there is an open recall on your vehicle for this or any other part, just pm me with your vin# & I'll take the time to look it up. Even if there is no recall, still take your vehicle in to the dealer if experiencing these issues, because it still needs to be fixed.

Hello this is Bill , whenever i drive through light rain puddles my ABS light comes on say for four to five minutes then goes off. Sometimes just a heavy down pour will cause the light to come on.
