The factory BOV is integrated into the compressor housing on the turbo, so you likely won't be able to install an aftermarket BOV until you upgrade the turbo, unless someone makes a block off plate for the stock location. And yes, the stock BOV is recirculated into the intake, but with an aftermarket intake you could vent to atmosphere without any side effects since the MAP sensors are in the intake manifold.

ok so blocking that off means the pipes will have a charge in them still, which means you need a valve somehwere else to bleed off the charge...A/M BOV ftw:jump:

+1 Someone will have to see if the SRT-4 block off plate can be used or even if the Mopar BOV could be used.

Yup and I love that "whoooosh" sound.. :)

Is it me, or is that bov located too close to the throttle body in the last 2 pics?
I don't think it really matters as long as the BOV releases the pressure then there will be no compressor surge.

it looks like we can use the block off plate from an srt-4
They do look very similar.. which is a good thing, it's one less thing to have to wait for someone to make..

Wonder why the HKS user is running 2 inline filters on the vacuum lines?
Good observation. I hadn't even noticed. Well we know why filters are normally ran, but any body ahve an idea other than to just keep track of the quality of air being pulled through the system?

One is more then enough to protect the BOV. Maybe its just some extra precautions.
That's what I meant when I said we know why they are normally ran, to filtrate the air. But I'm now wondering if they were possibly running them to see the air quality. I noticed that the filter housings are clear giving you the ability to see how much foreign particles are suspended in the air pulled through them.

That is correct, HKS always has in their instructions to run these inline filters, same goes for their boost controllers also.

Later Dr Turbo

Also the BOV can be as close as it want to the t-body, the closer the better really. Extra boost bounces right off the throtle plate and then out the door, it doesn't have to back track through the system to find it's way out.

damn I cant wait to get into this car... seems like so much potential... ripping out the stock boost control and vac lines and finding a better clocking of the turbo are going to be interesting to get a cleaner bay and better design into some of the charge pipes and such.

I've always been a huge fan of the SSQV I've got a brand new version 2 already sitting in the box. I've also got a brand new Tial external mv-s 38mm wastegate sitting in the box for this car. I'm going to just keep buying supporting mods for it until the R-spec comes out :jump: Now someone needs to make me a top mount T3 manifold :shifting:

Great pics!! thank you

based off the picture i dont see a block off plate to be able to use the BOV..

and dang thats a lil pricey for a BOV

ive seen and heard the video for this BOV on youtube and i personally dont like the sound but to each his own
Yeah, I've seen it & it is overpriced, but so is just about everything on that site. Wait & you'll see much better values available here in the U.S.
