couple questions

The cars equipped with HID headlights are the only ones with the "dark chrome" reflector housings. The regular halogen projector beam headlight housings are bright chrome.

Sorry, I'm a complete idiot when it comes to turbos. It's something I'm going to have to learn as we get further into this.

I thought about powdercoating my wheels to a dark/gunmetal colored gray close to the color of my car. Problem is the mounting/dismounting of 19" tires is not something our tire machine is capable of. I don't want to have to pay someone to dismount/mount/balance as well as the cost for the powdercoating. Not to mention being without a vehicle for a day or two.

There is a couple threads covering this, but in essence the HIDs have the black chrome & the projection lamps have the chrome. So, if you want black chrome, you either got to get a Track or 3.8 GT.

People are adjusting the wastegates to try to get a little more pressure out of the turbo w/o spending a bunch of money. I've yet to hear of anyone destroying their turbo though.

I have a local powder coating shop that just ordered the pearl dark dray to do my BMW 540i wheels within the next week or so. They are really good, but I would not powder coat the factory 19" Hyundai wheels, because they just look way too good factory to mess up. Now if I got the factory 18" wheels I might do them different.

I like the factory finish of the 19's, but it's so fragile... I have about 4 or 5 rock chips on each rear wheel, and keeping them touched up is becoming a PITA. Powdercoating would be much more durable.

No shit, that sucks.

I'm taking mine off the day I get it & storing them, since I'll have my F14s waiting on the car. I'll just break the wheels down since I know someone that owns a tire store that can handle big wheels & won't charge me anything. I will sell the tires & store the wheels in the boxes my F14s come in.

interesting. the black chrome looks good.

With the tibs I usually color match them. Think if the time comes I'll do the same to the coupe or sedan, which ever we get.
