From what I can see and from the many videos of Rhys Millen drifting I think this unit will do fine for most of us average weekend warriors. torson is the type of diff. i giggled in another thread when someone was relaying new things they found out and on the list was that the torsen diff was gear driven. thats like saying a V8 has pistons

torsen, clutch, viscous <--- types of LSD's. torsen is the superior unit of the three for versatility. i am totally stoked that hyundai did it right and equipped the car with something that i've upgraded previous cars of mine to.

I am a diff builder in Ohio and have had request for this up and coming diff upgrade to the standard models.

Gears and choices of limited slip would be great...BUT as with anything, we all have to see how well the car sells and what the percentage of people are doing with the cars for the aftermarket to supply parts.

Let see what happens?

Rears

Well even after 35+ years I have still figured out aftermarket units that have been on the market for 20 years that we have retro fit in to housings that were other wise considered useless rears that had NO after marketing help. Just goes to show that every day there is something new to learn and modify.

If I even had a OPEN differential (NON POSI/ LSD) that was removed from a car that did the posi swap we can get A LOT of hands on info from. SO if any ones has a donation for the cause let me know. I will do my best to cross reference anything that could be on the market. Jim

Donation on the carrier

I do not need to keep this unit forever NOR am I going to cut or tear it up either and will be more than happy to send it back when I am complete measuring everything. So if anyone has one we can check out the quicker we can see what we can and can not do.

Does anyone know the side splines in the unit? Or anyother info ring gear diameter, bolt pattern, bolt size and thread count inner diameter of the ring gear, bearing hub size....All this info will be helpful in finding a compatible unit or other ideas. Jim
