I wasn't able to listen to the audio (at work), but basically what I gleaned from that is that there are Ford employees working a couple hours, then going to the bar and driving while intoxicated. I kow for a fact that this isn't what all Ford employees do. My step-dad used to work at the plant in St.Louis and I'm pretty sure he didn't get to do that. Still, that's really jacked that the union forces all that pay and benefits, then lets the workers do whatever the hell they want.

I think the work day is to long if people have time to this then they don't have enough work to do. I know I've never had a job that I've had 8 hours a day of work to do. At most maybe 2 or 4 hrs of work and the rest is kill the time. I'm in the IT/Web Design field.

To me the big concern was these guys were drinking, and then going to work to operate machinery and/or put cars together. They could have injured or killed themselves or others while on the job but who knows, maybe these guys were working on suspension/steering pieces and because they had one too shots of tequila maybe they forget to put all the bolts on a steering part or they didn't tighten some bolts very good or didn't check their work.. kind of makes you wonder

I have no sympathy for American autoworkers & their unions, but I felt that way prior to the video, it just reaffirms what I already felt. If any of you ever get a chance to visit the Hyundai plant in Montgomery, take it. There's a reason it won the most prestigous auto manufacturing plant award.

yeah I heard the Hyundai plant is very state of the art. I believe they patterned their system after Toyota which is considered to be one of the best in the world, if not the best. Come to think of it I think John Krafcik studied them when he was with GM.
