Hello All,

I just bought a Genesis 3.8 with the Navigation system and I am trying to figure out how to change the climate output to Celcius. The manual tells you how to do this if you don't have the navigation system but this doesn't apply to me (i don't have an "enter button"). The accompanying navigation manual doesn't tell you how to change from fareheit to celcius. (note i'm talking about the air conditioning output, i was able to change the outside temperature to celcius from the setup menu).

Does anyone else have the navigation and figured out how to change this?

I'm not sure, but most Hyundais you hold down the ambient temp button & apply + or - temperature button/lever.

I have the same issue here...Can't switch from F to C at all! Even in setup menu, I can't seem to find the temp setting. I am usually very good with gadget stuff, but it looks like I am really missing something here...please let me know if you finally figured it out.

I didn't have to work Saturday, but I checked on it today spending a couple hours off & on trying to figure it out in a 3.8 GT w/Nav using the online owners manual with NO luck :aargh:

Sorry, but you are right, it can't be done. I had one my techs help me with this too still with no luck. All the ones w/o Nav are easy though. :dunno:

I did read in the owner's manual that unplugging the battery and reconnecting does the trick, but that was on the non-Nav versions of the genesis. Google got me a page of someone who had it in F and it reverted to C after the battery was disconnected.

The '03 Sonata is set up where you hold down ambient temp button & temp down arrow at same time to change for C to F.

I know & I understand that the GenCoupe w/NAV is unable to change from to F & vice-versa. I've also tried for hours off & on to change it with assistance from my techs & the Hyundai site w/no luck.


But the '03 Sonata can be done using the instructions I provided above.

Thanks for the update. Do you know if the engineers or head office know, and would this be a firmware or software update for the NAV, or would this be a replacement of the unit when they finally get a fix for it? I sent off a note to the guy who sold me my genesis and no reply back from him yet.

Genesis with nav-how to change to celcius

Turn on ignition (or start the car). Push on the climate button to get your display and then "press the round auto button and the off button for 3 secs" and you should see the change. Works on my Canadian 3.8 with nav.

- Push them both at the same time for 10 seconds
- Push the Nav and then the off for 10 seconds
- Push the Off and then the Nav for 10 seconds.

Nothing exciting happens and still stuck with the Fahrenheit setting.

Are you pushing the round Auto button and off at the same time? Try pushing the round auto first and then the off for 3 or so secs.

Yep. I pushed the middle of the dial that usually turns to the "auto" off or on, and then the off.

No change other than it toggles the auto, and then turns the climate control off.

Good news. I talked with the dealership and had them walk me through the process. You have to push the "Auto" and the "OFF" buttons at the same time for 3 seconds. Doesn't work if you if you push one and then the other.

Yep. I was sitting in the car on the phone with the dealership. The setting changed from 32F to 0C.
