My name is Jeremy. Hi, Hello. I was searching around for more information on the coupe this evening, and came across this site on a few videos on streetfire.net actually.
A little bit about myself i guess is in order. I am 24yrs, will be 25 in Feb. Been in the US army for just over 7 yrs now (national guard but lol whatever) Was deployed to Iraq for 11.5months during 2007 and actually leaving Jan 2nd for a 2nd tour for roughly the same amount of time.
My car background. I purchased my 1st car when i was 16, '95 mazda mx3, trans blew after a timing belt job, so i traded it in and bought a '03 brand new hyundai tibuon gt (auto). Ended up slowly modifying it rear sway bar, springs, wheels/tires, tinted windows, aem cai, single exiting exhaust, header, free mods to include headlights bezels painted, sub rewire. I had plans on going s/c but decided to trade it in for a '96 automatic eclipse gsx. Which started off as a bad choice, with all the issues i came across from the crap dealership i bought it from. Final outcome of that car is, currently sitting in my driveway (for the past 2yrs now as a shell). Last setup ran on the car was ported 14B @20psi will all supporting mods, tuned with safc and data logger. Then after returning from Iraq this past Feb 2008, i purchased a '96 honda civic 5speed coupe, sohc nonvtec. Car was extremely clean though. Custom green paint job 99-00 front end conversion, front lip, mirrors. 1st on order for the coupe was Omni full coilover setup, LCAs, front & rear camber kits, wheels/tires. Got bored with how slow the car was and sold it about 2months later. Next night went and purchased a '91 Talon Awd 5speed. Car basically took a crap on the way home (ebay 16g on car blew). Car was then torn apart and i found out it was half ass built. Made some phone calls to a few shops (sorry jrod :groupbow: buschur wasn't one of them), Forced Performance, Jnztuning were a huge help. Car was built around the stock 2.0l. Mods which included FPhta88 turbo, FP 3" o2 housing, 3" turboback, Tial 44mm wg, Fp manifold, Fp 4" intake pipe, Dsmlink tuning software, eprom ecu, stock trans, ACT 2600 6puck, JMfab smim, gmaf-t, SBR street FMIC setup (short route piping). Ran the car daily on 25psi (weekend before i was to dyno the car on pump & race (q16) gas the cheap Filter i installed as a quick fix came apart and destroyed the hta88 turbo. I assume car was making around 400whp But :dunno:.
I have actually been trying to decide whether to purchase an Evo X or the Genesis Coupe during this tour in iraq as a Daily driver (we all know that won't last, so i'm also searching for a clean 4DR civic to DD). Now that i have learned the 4b11 is also in the genesis the decision is even harder to make. I always loved the agruement against owning a performance hyundai but that just makes me want to push the car more and spend more cash to prove people wrong.
Thanks for your time,
Jeremy
