who the heck told you that?
It was my local Hyundai dealership. I went to the dealer today and the SM called head quarters and he had the guy on speaker. I was wanting to order my G-coupe since it was close to 2009. The guy told the SM and I that they will have their G-coupes in january and i could order mine a month after if i dont find the one i want.

jmdm212, I wish you were right, but I'm afraid it's not so. If were lucky we may see the coupe by March, but more than likely it will be April. I've been working for Hyundai for 10yrs now & every vehicle they have released has taken a month longer than the original release date. On top ot that, this vehicle's release was delayed due to the strikes in Korea. Original release date was Feb, maybe March, so now I suspect April, maybe May.

Which dealer?
I live in manassas, va btw. May release date will seriously screw with my plans to be at least competitive in this seasons Redline TA events. First east coast event is in june, may have to skip that one and shoot for july as the first entry.

Yeah you are probably right about the later release date. The cars may get into the Country in late Feb or early March and then around the 23rd of March Genesisforums.org should be headed back to Las Vegas to do a full day test drive that Hyundai is sponsoring. My thinking is that the dealers wont sell the Coupe until after the media and press get their hands on the car first.
Hopefully the car comes out sooner. If you can start a thread about your project that would be cool. I'd like to know things like how long will it take you to get your car built and prepped and what kind of mods are you anticipating on doing to your car and anything else.

Malloy?! hmm the fact that we still have no offical pricing leads me to believe that a january release date would be a lil far fetched. Unless Hyundai is planning to pull the wool over our eyes until the very end. Just doesn't seem likely.

I'll start one closer to when the car is coming out. Right now its all just plans and ideas. I'll say the car will be decked out nicely, sporting a gt35r with matching manifold/dp/exhaust, 18x10 f/r and full suspension. Depending on how the aftermarket moves, 2-piece rotors and ss lines with the stock brembos and internals by the end of the season or between '09 and '10. Also plan to so some aero, full under pan with rear difuser and front splitter during the winter. I've purchased some parts already but im stuck on alot of it until the car comes!

Sounds like you got a good plan for the car, can't wait to see your progress pics once you get started. I think it would be fun to do a TA but there is no such thing near me. Ohwell I'll have to stick with the local autox stuff I guess.
