I've been searching for a more advanced scanner than my OBII & ran across this: Auto Enginuity products scan tool AutoEnginuity® - OBD2 Scan Tool - Professional PC and PDA Diagnostics this thing can hook up to you're laptop & do all most anything. Free to all ScanTool puchases is the SpeedTracer performance analysis software for your PC which allows you to run performance analysis at your own convenience & no need to pay for dynos. It can: 0-60ft time & mph time, 1/8mile time & speed, 1/4mi time & speed, G forces, SAE Hp & Torque vs RPM graphing, speed vs time graphing (accel & decel), compute gear ratio, compute coast down times, compute volumetric efficiency, compute MPG (current & running avg), & monitor boost pressure. That's in addition to being able to read & clear stored & pending trouble codes, as well as, manufacturer specific codes, view live vehicle sensors in meter, graph or grid format, configure sensors' ranges, scaling value, alert triggers, units, & sampling rate, along with a host of other stuff. In addition, you can purchase the Enhanced Hyundai/Kia Expansion for $99.95 & access Hyundai specific sensors not covered by the OBII specification. Plus updates are available for a nominal fee. Does this sound like a winner? I've heard good feed back on the bimmerfest forum, although the Enhanced BMW Expansion is $229.95.

For Hyundai~ Nextech High Scan should be best, since Hyundai and Kia is using it.

Thanks PowerAXEL, I agree, although I'm not familiar with each company's product tools, but since you are all insight is welcomed. One problem though, I own different makes of vehicles & don't want to purchase a scanner for each if I can help it, just to costly when you figure in software upgrades, etc. Any ideas?

I visited the link, but of course it's in Korean, so could not get much data. I want a detail of its capabilities other than the ability to read codes. Also need the price, plus any additional costs, such as software upgrades, etc...
Thanks,, PowerAXLE

I doubt they will sell one unit directly, but you can try. If not help, let me know with part numbers.

This way, I can give you my price exactly.

sabbasaun, for the moment I did find a scan tool for the bimmer, that read/clears ECU, TCM, ABS, aribag codes, etc It also resets maint svc lamp, programs auto locks, resets A/T adaptive values, along with a host of other stuff for $59.95. The Carsoft 6.5 diagostics itnerface tool made specifically for BMW. Anyone heard of it?

I haven't heard of Carsoft but for $60 that's not a bad price and it'll save you a trip to the dealer. Let us know how it works out. By the way have you checked your private messages? Sent you a couple. ;)

I can't post cost on-line, but they are not cheap...........well over $1,000

Go any Hyundai dealer, you'll find this one use by service dept.
I won't have to go far, I've worked in a Hyundai svc dpt for 10yrs as a service advisor. I was planning on spending between $500.00-$1000.00 anyway on a good scan tool for both vehicles if it can do all I'd like, but really was trying to stay under a grand. If it's the same one we use, wonder if I can get it through work at a discount? Anyways, I'm just looking for a cheap fix right now to clear svc maint lamp, reprogramm locks, etc on my bimmer,
