Well it's that time of year again, SEMA 2011 is just around the corner. Are you going to SEMA this year? If so post your pics and experiences so that we can all share!

I'll be going again to cover SEMA as a whole but I'll be sure to make Hyundai's press conference which will be on Tuesday morning. They've got ten Veloster show cars and a couple of BKs I believe. I'll post pics on the forum as often as I can but you can also follow me on Twitter or Facebook as I'll be posting pics from my phone throughout the day.

Yeah you guys need to check out SEMA at least once. It's one big huge ass car show and its FUN... Definitely plan for next year!

SEMA Update

It was a busy but great day. Picked up my media credentials for SEMA and was able to sneak in to part of the convention and snap some pics of a few show cars. No pics of Hyundai show cars unfortunately as they were super secretive this year, especially with the RMR show car. For good reason I hear though. In a nut shell from what Rhys told me, the show car is everything that a lot of people have wanted to see in the Genesis Coupe and more. To me that means, the Tao V8 5.0 in the BK chassis, and heck maybe AWD? I'll let you all know tomorrow what I find out. Also a possibility is a closer tie to dealerships with RMR. Dealers have been wanting this for a while, and customers will be able to purchase RMR parts through the dealership and either self install or half the dealership install for them. At this point I believe body and interior parts will be released first and hopefully we can start seeing some performance parts as well, something similar to what STILLEN does with Nissan.

In other news, CEO John Krafcik announced tonight to all in attendance that for the Veloster, there will indeed be a turbo variant of the new Veloster. If you follow me on Twitter you heard it first as I was able to get my tweet out before even Hyundai did! (Krafcik came up to me later and asked how it felt to be the first one to announce it on Twitter lol). Same engine size at 1.6l but he was mum on the power levels. It wont get 40MPG but if it gets 30-35MPG and 200hp I can see a lot of people being interested. More details will come for this car at the Detroit Auto show next year.
