Okay so while we are mainly a Hyundai Genesis Forum we also covered some of the other happenings at SEMA. Words alone can't describe how frigg'n BIG it is here. So much to cover so little time as we only have two bodies here at the show and we weren't the most prepared for the show either. For example, Lord Calvert brought one of his laptops but the battery only lasts like 15-30 minutes so it always has to be plugged in. Secondly the hotel we're staying at has wireless but it costs a $13 a day. Yes I know, Outrageous. It's something that should be free so we refuse to pay for it. We're using my Verizon aircard to upload pics and it is amazingly slow. Interestingly, someone had the nerve to ask me if they could check their email on my laptop in the Central Hall and I'm like, "Oh, $13 bucks please." and I kept on typing. Anyhoo, like I mentioned this place his huge and we haven't even checked out the Aftermarkets Hall yet. That'll be on our agenda tomorrow. In the meantime enjoy some random pics of the show.
Firstly, one of my all time favoriate cars... the Ghost Buster's Hearse car. As Jrod brought to my attention, the ECTO-1!!! To make it even better they were playing the song over and over and over again... "Bustin makes me feel good!"
Oh yeah the place is big. A pic to give you an idea how big the halls are... below is just one aisle out of like 5 or 6 per each hall and the hall is about as long as about 2 football fields:
Nissan GT-R are always pleasing to look at... I was surprised how many companies were using them to showcase their products:
and then you have a Kia Rondo with obligatory rollcage. This works well when you overload the vehicle with groceries and fear you will tip over on the racetrack:
Not to be out done by the Kia Rondo, the super exotic Ford GT40. Which I guess is only 40 inches high off the ground which is where the "40" came from (I can not reveal my source on this).
and finally to close out the post, some samples of the ultimate driving machines:
