Popped the Great Plains Cherry! haha

Hello all.

Aaron D here, anxiously awaiting the arrival of the Genesis Coupe...

Don't tell me I'm the only one here?
Hey Aaron welcome to the forums. I don't live in Oklahoma but I visit Tulsa quit often as my in-laws live there. Well Broken Arrow to be exact. Introduce yourself in the New Members Introduction area and tell us a little bit about yourself.

Thanks!

Im bringing my motorcycle helmet and a rental car. I should be good. Just need to make sure I rent something reliable with some nuts. lol

TORNADO!

:shifting:

Failure to the trans.....
I think using a rental car is a really good idea. I think it was Destroyed in Seconds and they were showing some storm chasers. One of the cars got hit hard with some hail and even with the wire mesh guard they put around the windows the windows got smashed and the mesh frames got all bent up. The body of the car looked like someone had taken a sledge hammer to it. It was crazy. Get the extra insurance just in case! :)

Wow, thanks for all the warm welcomes. I've just been lurking around the site gaining info on the Genesis coupe. I only found out about the coupe late last week and immediately fell in love! lol

I'm mostly settled into the Nissan camp of car building/tuning, but need a 2+2 to be practical, so a 350z was out. The Genesis coupe seems to be the perfect medium!

Does anyone know what the curb weight is going to be for the 2.0t is going to be?

Good lord they sure make cars heavy these days! lol

My little 240sx only weighs in @ 2700lbs with an iron blocked 2.4L.

It'd better ride smooth as butter and quiet as a mouse for that much weight!

Granted I'm sure the Hyundai will have things like ABS, airbags, traction control etc maybe some other stuff that'll add weight, but wow. I was hopping you could option some weight out of it w/o some of those things.

Well Aaron, my understanding is that's what the R-Spec is supposed to be. A version w/o all the amenities. No sunroof, pwr seats, pwr mirrors, ipod/blue tooth connectivity, less dampning, less wiring, etc. But' keeping all the performance stuff from the track model: Brembo 4pots, bigger sway bars, bigger shocks, stiffer springs, LSD, 19" rims, etc But, at lower cost since you don't have all those tech gadgets figured into the price.

You right though, all that safety comes at a cost-weight (6 airbags - WOW)

Well, considering that I hate sunroofs, don't need power seats/mirrors, ipod, bluetooth, etc. and would want the added performance items. I might just wait for the R-spec version.

Thanks.

Sorry I haven't been online much lately.
