How do those things feel different from a normal clutch? Does it hold better or just allow for quicker shifts?
The title is alittle bit misleading. This is not a twin clutch setup but a twin DISC clutch. Two different things. A twin disc clutch can provide some benefits like easier pedal effort but allowing for greater clamping pressures and longer life of the clutch itself. For higher power cars this is a big plus and can make the driveability of high power cars better.

Twin disc take a good bit of getting use to if you have never driven one before, but if you get the chance drive a 350z They have a twin disc clutch. Never got the chance to need a twin disc my ACT 2600 unsprung 6puck held just nicely on my 400hp awd talon.

The 350 does? I used to work as a salesman at nissan in 2005 and I drove one and it didnt feel much different than my passat's clutch at the time.

No offense intended to you personally, but that seems like something a salesman should know.

As far as the twin disc clutch goes, I'm not a huge fan of Valeo since they made the terrible clutches in the Tibs, but I'm definitely gonna keep my eye on it for future consideration.

No offense to you, but most people in the market for a Z either knows everything there is to know about it, or just wants it because its hot so it sells itself. And, I only worked there for 3 months lol

Ask me a technical question about a sentra, then we're talkin lol

Personally I think the model of selling cars is outdated. Why do you have to frigg'n negotiate hours for the best price in a car? The last car I bought I think it took me like 5hrs to get out of the dealership, it was dumb. I hate the "Four square" thing that some of the dealers use... and the constant, "I need to check with my Manager.. ohhh he's not gonna like this but I'll see what i can do for you." Come on!!

Yeah, honestly nowadays, you can just design your car online, have a price dictated to you, print this & take to the dealer & say there you go.:dunno:

Back on topic, what's the difference in a twin clutch setup, a 2 stage setup, & a dual friction setup? sabbasaun, you helped out a lot on my earlier clutch questions, think you could do it again?
