Great suggestion guys, we've tried to keep things relatively simple but at the same time cater to everyone which I know is impossible. As far as the RMR poster giveaway, later tonight I will be posting everyone that is eligble and then this weekend hold a drawing and announce the winner on Sunday night. Once I get the address of the individual who wins I'll ship it out.

honestly, the interface seems to be a bit cluttered imo. it might just be because i'm used to the other forums i'm on but i find the other forums a bit easier to navigate. if you want a screen shot i can take one for ya.

still, it's an awesome forum :)
Yeah post up some screen shots if you want, we're open to any suggestions. We've tried to model some of the other sites out there, like srtforums.

This might be a little far fetched because I don't know how far your skilz extend sabba, but what's the chance you could devise a build your GenCoupe thread.:dunno: Kinda like a mix between building your car at Hyundai.com & video game after market parts purchases. Have a short (3-4) selection of front & rear bumpers, front & rear spoilers/splitters, side skirts, hoods, larger selection of wheels, alow for drop & window tint, & a palet of paint choices, esp factory colors. That way we could devise our car the way we think we want it to look & actually see if it looks good before doing the mods.:jump:
That's a great idea Tufast but way behind my skills. If anyone else is up to the challenge please feel free to go at it.

Would I would like to maybe implement is a reviews section of parts. Say you bought ABC exhaust sytem, you could review it, tell us how much you paid, where you got it, how much HP it gave you, maybe pics and sound clips...

Well we've implemented some of the suggestions to try and make the site better. Some changes we did:

Reorganzied some sub-forums and consolated others, increased size of font, and lastly added a image resizer (Thanks Lord Nikon for the tip). Let us know what you think.

---------------
Edit: Check out the Announcement regarding the changes:

What do you all think?

I just joined the site and I really like the layout and everything, but one thing I noticed is that there is no search function. Having a search button makes it much easier to find specific info so that you don't have to dig through piles of threads and hope you find what you're looking for.
There should be a search button on the forum menu bar below the main site graphic and also on the home page there is a quick search on the left column under "Buddy List" and above "Forum Links"

Hope that helps :)

Sorry to resurrect an older thread, but ive been spoiled over at myspecv.com and think it would be great to have a similar setup as theirs as far as functionality...this color scheme is great and the content is pretty great but it is still hard to navigate...and a chatbox would be great to keep people from having to post just to chat....at least thats my .02
Hey SpecRacer thanks for your suggestions. . . I checked out MySpecV and I think the Forums section is pretty similar to that. The Home pages is what is the big difference to me. We don't have a dynamic layout which is also different. As far as navigating, what can we do to make it better? When you first goto the site you have a "Site Navigation" box on the left and also underneath where you sign in. You can minimize any of the modules you don't care to see, like the "Recent Threads" section or the "Polls" box. We can add a chat or shout box module but we didn't want the homepage to be too busy (it's already busy as it is IMO)..

Thanks again for the suggestions..

Henry

home page looks a bit cluttered IMO. Also, since you guys are using the "25 newest posts on home page" type thing... is there any way to filter out what sub forums you pull from... cluttering up the main page with every new post that was posted in the "RSS feeds" or "Other discussion" forums is kinda hosing the home page down. What people want to see on the main home page is mostly (IMO) "what have the vendor's come up with now", "has anyone cracked the ECU", "HYUNDAI now guarantees warranty even if you mod" etc. type of stuff.
You shouldn't see a bunch of RSS feeds, just a few select ones we find interesting.. trust me we filter out most of the feeds in a private sub-forum.. as far as the "Other Discussion" the impression I got was that most liked to see the other discussions? I agree though what get's most people's juices flowing is what the vendors and tuner's and DIY guys are doing next.. but when the updates from them are a little slow, the other stuff fills in nicely IMO..

We will keep all options on the table though! :)
