So who's driven or riden in the Genesis sedan? :shifting: I'm curious what the v8 sounds like. :Hmmm: I think it's totally awesome that Hyundai has come out with a 4.6l v8 that produces more horespower and torque than some muscle cars out there with the same size engine (Ford Mustang GT for example).

" what the korean driver at the drift event said: from BKMania, originally from BoBaeDream"

YouTube - Hyundai Genesis Coupe @ Speed-Way(Sep 28, 2008)

"After drving BK, I felt that the car was 'excellent'.
I only used 5000RPM but the performance was still spectacular.
---------------------Skipping----------------------
It felt similiar to G35 Coupe

Driving performance was great(drifting etc) "

The car feels great even in the v6. Lots of power and very roomy. Hyundai came along way with this car, we only have a blue one left, sold them all already.

Yeah we posted a video of a v6 version going 160+ mph in Korea. I think Hyundai definitely hit a homerun with the sedan. Even my brother-in law mentioned how nice they were and he's a VW snob. Also welcome to the forums! You should introduce yourself in the "New member introductions" section and say. We're glad to have you here.

Liquid power

I have the 4.6. I just touch the pedal and I'm going at legal limit. Smooth all the way. I have kicked it down, and the power is there. it pushes you firmly and evenly, however, you do not get the oomph that some people may be looking for. For that I suggest a lighter car.

When I am rolling at 60 mph the tach is sitting at 1,200 rpm. No wonder gas mileage is good.

I've taken the 6cyl sedan on a short test drive, its lux through & through. Its super quiet inside & feels as if you are in a Mercedes, Lexus, etc, you know that ambient feeling you get when your wrapped in something luxurious. Imagine a car that feels like a real fur coat when you put it on & you have the Genesis sedan.

We have a customer that just pulled into the service drive with a blue v8. He lives here in Jersey and went to West Broad Hyundai in Virgina to get it. Things got a hell of alot of power. Nice piece they have put together.

I haven't been in one yet, but I've seen two here in K.C. One was an older guy, and the second one was a middle-aged guy... I must admit, you can definetly see this car coming towards you on the road.. very distinctive grille.

Tufast if you can do a test drive please make a post about it here. I am very interested in these cars and may just get one if I can't wait for the Coupe. V8 power is very appealing to me right now. The turbo 4's are nice and the handling is good out of my WRX but i'm getting older and something nicer with a v8 is getting more appealing to me.

Not a problem, but will have to wait for the initial customers that have been waiting to test drive 1st, then once its calmed down, like with the V/6, I'll get my opportunity. Although my techs will get to test drive during PDI (pre-delivery inspection) and I'm sure will give me the low down;).

I drove into a Hyundai dealership today and took a look at one of the Sedans.... They had one of the top of the line models, with the leather interior and lexicon sound systems.. It was amazingly very nice. If you just showed people the interior of these new cars most people would think you were sitting in a BMW or Mercedes. It is that nice.. I didn't have time to do a test drive as I was on my lunch break but I will go back for sure to do that.. I'll post my thoughts on it after that... Tufast, you are lucky you get to see these beautiful cars every day, i'm envious!

Hi Genesis101, welcome to the forums and thanks for telling us about your Genesis Sedan. Also Lord Calvert was not calling the Genesis Sedan "near luxury". I believe he was posting a review and interview from another site. Although the post is not clear on that.

Hope that clears it up a little bit.

Got our 1st V/8 in recently, haven't driven it, but can tell you that it is certainly quiet, the exaust I mean. The interior does look a little nicer & the wheels don't have those chrome triangular inserts in them. Otherwise it's like a loaded 6cyl.

I used to drive a Jaguar XJ8. I upgraded to a Genesis 4.6! Great power, balance, and handling is sharp and connected to the road without shaking your kidneys; even at 130mph.

I'll be adding an exhaust system from Borla pretty soon. they will be out on the market around August of this year but ill be enjoying mine in 3 weeks! I'm excited to see what the car does with an open throat!
